BELLINI'S CAFFE AND RESTAURANT

Why hello dearest readers, I am updating the blog with this post before I give birth in the next couple of days! I apologize for the long break since my last post, I am sure some of you will understand those pregnancy woes :-p

I was really happy when I learned from one reader (thanks, Charo!) that Bellini's reopened in Marikina, beside Save More in Bayan - very accessible! When I found the time to squeeze a food trip in my schedule, I invited my Mom for lunch at Bellini's.

Pesto with Seafood Pasta! :-) Sorry guys, I forgot to take photos of the menu so I don't have the price at hand. One serving is good for one hungry person, or two not-so-hungry persons. :-)

Mom orders the Tiramisu because she had lunch already, my invite came too late! Haha. How beautiful is that thing?!

Mom immediately digs into the dessert and says it tastes even better than it looks... Ah I would love to go back to Bellini's for this! I am also a big fan of their Shoe Expo branch in Cubao.

Look! Complimentary Vin Santo (dessert wine) to cap off our meal. Too bad I can't take alcohol because I'm preggers :-p I just had a little sip though!

The best part of it all: the whole gang is in the house!!! That's Mr. Bellini himself in the middle. I am so blessed to have met him again, and spoken to him in Italian (thought I was getting rusty, haha)

FAMOUS BELGIAN WAFFLES

I am a breakfast person. I can skip lunch, dinner or merienda, but please, let me have my breakfast. :-) I have been craving for waffles since last week, and during one of my recent trips to SM Marikina, I was all giddy when I saw that we now have the Famous Belgian Waffles in Marikina! Yey! (I had the waffles as snack though, not breakfast... ha!)

  

These are just not waffles, mind you. These are freshly-cooked, crisp on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside waffles that have many filling varieties to suit your palate --- or you can order the simple waffle if you're not a "filling" person.

The menu! So many choices!!

The waffles are freshly prepared so you might wait a bit (only a bit, though), but don't worry! The waffles are worth the wait.

Here is what we ordered:

Banana Hazelnut (55 PhP). The hazelnut spread is soooo good. At first I thought it was peanut butter, but it is hazelnut and actually reminded me of my favorite hazelnut gelato flavor. Yum!

Ham and Cream Cheese (55 PhP) The cream cheese tasted great with the ham, and sandwiched in a warm, crispy waffle, this combo is just oh-so-good.

Banana Peanut Butter (45 PhP) Do I even have to explain what makes this waffle sooooo good? ;-)

Sorry for the photos, I swear my SLR was calling out to me before I left the house, but I decided to leave it in my room. If only I knew the waffle encounter would be on that day...

TIYO'S CUISINE BY CHEF & BREWER

I am now on my fourth month of pregnancy and I couldn't eat as much as I'd love to like before, but that couldn't stop me from discovering awesome food places for you dear readers! This restaurant has been on my list for a couple of months now after receiving another recommendation from a reader. Together with my ever reliable support group - Mom and Sis - we checked out Tiyo's Cuisine by Chef & Brewer and we had a really great time!

While waiting for our orders, my preggy self went around the place since I already fell in love with it. Here are some photos I'd like to share with you. Enjoy!

I just love foodie places loaded with photo ops. I was informed that the place has been operating for just a couple of months, and I really look forward to what Tiyo's will offer us in the future. Ooops, here come our orders:

 Angus Tapa (200 PhP). Our favorite!

Grilled Beer Sausage (180 PhP). Oh, we loved their sinangag, too!

Bangus Belly (180 PhP)

Pesto with Aligue (320 PhP) Soooo good! This dish serves 2-3 persons.

Mango juice and Pineapple Juice (70 PhP each)

We had a great dining experience at Tiyo's Cuisine! The ambience is great, the prices affordable, and of course, the dishes are delicious! They currently have ongoing promos such as buy 1 take 1 for beers at 55 PhP, and the unlimited 1-peso brewed coffee. Check their Facebook page for more details.
