CAFE VIA ANGELO

Marikina will never run out of great hang out places, I assure you.

We have been waiting for this cafe to open for the longest time. We often swing by Macky's Goto and once we saw the marquee of this cafe being put up just across the street, we knew we will be in its first wave of customers. A few weeks ago, they finally opened their doors to diners like us so we can check out this new cool place that is CAFE VIA ANGELO.

The counter and the dessert bar, behind which is the kitchen where all the magic happens

The view to my left (Restroom is at the end of the short hall)

The menu offers a lot, I cannot say that they serve a specific type of cuisine, but all the items sure looked interesting. We decided to go Italian that night.

Cafe Via Angelo Pizza

First up - the Cafe Via Angelo pizza. We didn't know that it was that BIG. And that LOADED. I am a sucker for pizzas that are served with loads and loads of cheese. We loved this one, and for amazing eaters (yes, that's the term) like us, we didn't finish it. Told you, it was really good, but HUGE. This is perfect for families or barkadas!

Seafood Marinara Pasta

We also tried their pasta. This one's the seafood marinara (I'm sure you can judge from the prawn head gracefully sticking out... hehe!) I loved the sauce and the seafood flavors. One more thing I loved about the pasta? The bread! I forgot to ask the type of bread they served with the pasta... I think it had walnuts in it! Yum!

 House Blend Iced Tea

To end our meal, of course, we ordered cakes. The cool thing about Cafe Via Angelo is that they serve different cakes all the time (that's what I heard), so every time you visit, you may have a new set of cakes to choose from.

Yema Cake. Yema Cake. Yema Cake. (We got the corner slice, thus, the rosettes! Hehe)

Chocolate Decadence. This was actually a slice of chocolate-cheesecake-heaven.

I forgot the name of the cake, but It was chocolate based with marshmallow frosting and toffee crunch filling. Our favorite cake among the three we've tried.

A cool place to hang out, on weekend afternoons, or food trip dates, or after church (this is a few meters from Our Lady of the Abandoned Church). Visit Cafe Via Angelo to relax and indulge for a while!

  6. I found this dish a bit bland, but if you really want to try the seafood with just a little taste of the sauce is good.

  10. Cafe Via Angelo IS One of the BEST Resto here in Marikina...kagagaling ko lang dun ngayon and we ordered Chicken and Chips, New York Supreme Pizza, and Marshmallow Cake...kame pa lang talaga tao kanina ng 10am hehe...super nice ang service nila! Very accommmodating lalo na yung may-ari...she is so nice and sarap kausap since pareho kameng nasa medical field, and also I've asked her a lot of questions about Cafe Via Angelo...and nung nalaman niya na bday ko today..hehe she gave us FREE expresso...then yung isa sa mga nag-se-serve asked me kung bakit ko daw kinukunan ng picture yung foods sabi ko kasi ilalagay ko sa FB at sinabi ko na nasa blog mo Miss Roni yung Cafe Via Angelo and natuwa sila talaga.. :)

    Sbarro + Shakeys + Conti's = CAFE VIA ANGELO :)

  18. Hi!

I've been reading your blog now for week, i guess (haha) and since i'm from Marikina too, gusto kong matry yung mga restos around. And kanina, my boyfriend and i wandered around Marikina with your blog as our guide, and nagpunta kami sa Cafe Via Angelo for lunch. I was medyo disappointed kasi yung pizza sa photo mo, ours wasn't as yummy looking as that. It was good, pero it wasn't like what i was expecting. Gusto ko din sana nung Yema cake pero wala, chocolate cake something lang yung meron sila :( Okay naman yung place, okay naman yung service, pero yung food lang. Maybe i was expecting too much, or siguro it wasn't as good as it was nung nag-open sila :O

i like your blog ng sobra, though. Parang may virtual tour ako sa Marikina. Haha. Thank you, kasi i get to know more about the city's yum areas!

Maybe you could give them another shot? ;-) Also, I hope you try other restos in Marikina :-) thanks so much again Nadine for your comment!! :-) enjoy the rest of your food trips in our city!

    4. hi again Jeryn! hmmm... I'd suggest you call them first (02) 547-5508 to check which cakes they have, as they serve a variety every week ;-) The pizza is about 300 to 400 for one whole pizza, I am not updated if they serve by the slice, you might want to ask about that too. Thanks so much for your comments here! Hope to hear more from you soon! Thanks again Jeryn!

      Cheers,
      Roni

  21. DISAPPOINTED!! My hubby bought 2 different slices of cake as take out last Sunday, unfortunately one smells differently (obvious na "panis"), imposible naman in less than an hour ganun agad db? . We tried to contact Ms. Bea by calling her cp (more than 5x) but no one answers, my hubby even politely informed her about the incident. We waited until this morning but no response even a text re the matter. Sayang tlga dinayo pa naman ni hubby un just for my craving (we're from Rizal), tinapon na lang namin syang effort at gas. Be cafeful na lang and check the quality of the food first lalo na sa mga preggy..
