Even More Reasons to Love PERFECT MOMENTS BAKESHOP

Hello dear Marikenyos, friends, and reader friends, I am SOOO back ;-) The baby is thriving, life is great, and I continue to praise and thank God for all the wonderful works He does in our lives. I hope you've had your share of blessings, and that you have been a blessing today!

Speaking of blessing, we have been blessed to be invited by no other than our Chef - Masterbaker Josephine Po to check out the new look and menu of Perfect Moments Bakeshop in Blue Wave Marquinton. If you happen to be in the area, Perfect Moments is a great alternative (not to mention affordable) to your usual fast food chain.

The new menu! I wanted to try out everything but stomach space is limited... Haha!

We decided to try the pizza offerings, since the store has a new brick oven. The pizzas are 99 PhP for a thin crust 8-inch pizza. Eat them while fresh of the oven! The crust is crunchy! :-)

We also tried the Banh Mi (49 PhP), a 6-inch sandwich of Vietnamese descent. It is a very simple, fresh-tasting sandwich. I love the chewiness of the bread and the aroma of fresh cilantro. With ground pork and liver, and the crunchiness of carrots (there's cucumber too but for my share I had to remove them because I don't eat cucumber, hehe), this sandwich is an easy favorite. Don't forget the chili sauce!

 Look! They have cookie pops, and minions, at that! We tried these and let me tell you... they're one of the best cookie pops out there. The cookie is soft and buttery! Kids will love this!

YOHEL'S BAGNET STATION

I can't believe it's been a couple of weeks already since I last wrote and promised you guys a post in the next, well, couple of weeks. Haha! Anyway, I am really excited to share a foodie place that  comes up with menu items that are conceptualized around one delicious Filipino pork dish: BAGNET! Oh yes, the crunchy, tasty bagnet that is reminiscent of the North. Glad to know that us Marikenyos need not travel that far though just to have a taste of yummy bagnet!

Yohel's Bagnet opened its doors to crunchy-crispy-pork-belly fans last April, and, as soon as I tried a piece of their original bagnet dish, I knew: this place warrants my, yours and everybody's visit! (I think a photo post in FB got tons of attention as soon as I uploaded it, hehe!)

Sis and I had a hard time ordering. All dishes were tempting! Since I am beginning to doubt my cholesterol levels, I suggested we limit our order to three dishes... and try the others next time! Har har har!

Ladies and gentlemen, at this point I suggest you ready a couple of wet wipes or tissue to wipe off the drool from your computer screens.

The Kare-Kare Bagnet solo order (115 PhP for a solo meal, with rice) had a wonderful nutty flavor to it. The crunchy texture of the pork belly was a welcome twist from the usual soft tripe or pork knuckle. This one we will definitely order again.

The Binagoongang Bagnet (115 PhP for a solo meal, with rice) was another marvel. Crunchy cuts of pork belly nestled upon a piece of inihaw na talong smothered with bagoong. Imagine how heavenly this tastes with sukang Iloko! Yum!

Just to "titillate" your taste buds, here is another angle of the Binagoongang Bagnet. See how the crackle of the pork skin jumps right off your screen? Hehe!

I loved the Original Bagnet dish (105 PhP for a solo meal, with rice) most of all. It comes with your choice of sauce, but since I couldn't make up my mind, I ordered all the available sauces. Clockwise from left: Sukang Iloko dip, Lechon Sauce dip, Atchara dip, and my super duper favorite Bagoong Isda dip. Can I teleport to Yohel's Bagnet right now?

So, if you're craving for bagnet, no need to travel up north. Just look for Yohel's Bagnet across SDS hospital and have your share of well-prepared and delicious bagnet dishes that are guaranteed to satisfy.

BELLINI'S CAFFE AND RESTAURANT

Why hello dearest readers, I am updating the blog with this post before I give birth in the next couple of days! I apologize for the long break since my last post, I am sure some of you will understand those pregnancy woes :-p

I was really happy when I learned from one reader (thanks, Charo!) that Bellini's reopened in Marikina, beside Save More in Bayan - very accessible! When I found the time to squeeze a food trip in my schedule, I invited my Mom for lunch at Bellini's.

Pesto with Seafood Pasta! :-) Sorry guys, I forgot to take photos of the menu so I don't have the price at hand. One serving is good for one hungry person, or two not-so-hungry persons. :-)

Mom orders the Tiramisu because she had lunch already, my invite came too late! Haha. How beautiful is that thing?!

Mom immediately digs into the dessert and says it tastes even better than it looks... Ah I would love to go back to Bellini's for this! I am also a big fan of their Shoe Expo branch in Cubao.

Look! Complimentary Vin Santo (dessert wine) to cap off our meal. Too bad I can't take alcohol because I'm preggers :-p I just had a little sip though!

The best part of it all: the whole gang is in the house!!! That's Mr. Bellini himself in the middle. I am so blessed to have met him again, and spoken to him in Italian (thought I was getting rusty, haha)
