Looking for a food trip down south? Let me tell you about a new foodie discovery right in the heart of Alabang!

I got invited to a bloggers night at the newly-opened MARKET BASKET located at the hip (and also newly-constructed) River Park at Festival Mall Alabang. This new food destination is a modern take on our classic "dampa", where customers shop around for ingredients and have them cooked according to their request(s). MARKET BASKET has a large menu, with items that are sure to cater to each and every one's cravings.

Before we started dinner, every one had the chance to go around a bit and take photos. MARKET BASKET is spacious, clean, and has interesting, fresh ingredients that will make you anticipate your dinner with so much excitement. Let's take a quick tour through photos: (Loyal readers, you know me. More photos than words, as usual!)

Whew. A lot to see (and taste! hehe) inside Market Basket. We were then told to go back to the blogger's table to start sampling the dishes. Always, always, the best part.

Stuffed Crabs with a side of greens... heavenly.

Organic Lettuce with Assorted Fruits Salad - this one is very light and refreshing!

Lechon Kawali Sisig

Sauteed Mushroom Salad

 Bottomless Red Iced Tea

Sinigang na Salmon Belly

Tanigue Steak

Pusit a la Pobre

Surf and Turf. One of the best steaks I've had in a long time!

Lamb Steak - so tender, gamey, fragrant, flavorful. Oh my.

Beef Salpicao Pasta - so rich!

One of the best macarons everrrrr! (Filled with Hazelnut ganache... so yummy)

Sizzling Ube Macapuno Ice Cream (yes, those are macapuno balls)

Nilupak Roulade

Signature Sapin Sapin Creme Brulee

Blueberry Cheesecake

I think it took me a good half hour before I could walk... just kidding. The dishes in MARKET BASKET were all soooo good! This place warrants another visit, not just from me, but from every one who has been there!

A big thanks to the very accommodating General Manager: Chong! We all had a great time at Market Basket.

Of course I won't ever miss the opportunity to have a photo op with my restaurateur hero, Mr. Larry Cortez, and the laudable chef that night at Market Basket!

And we all took photos with the sweet lady behind the great macaronnage!

The happy group! Can you spot Ms. ARIELLA ARIDA, and CHAMP LUI PIO (crushiieeeee)

Visit MARKET BASKET at the River Park area, Festival Mall, Alabang, for a one-of-a-kind dampa experience! :-)

  3. saan po ito banda?

    1. hi dear, this is in front of Festival Super Mall, in Alabang. The area is called River Park. You will notice this line of fresh new shops, especially if you're coming from the Asian Hospital side of it. I'll try posting a Google Map link or shot here ;-)

      thanks so much!

  4. I love the photos of the food...drool!!! Now, is it just me or is this particular establishment the setting for a scene in a movie with KC Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez? The one where they met in Greece? It's the scene towards the end where Richard opens a restaurant and KC comes to apologize to him in front of his family. Anyway, another place on my to do list when I go home again. Yum!

    1. Hi MCat! Hmmm... not so sure as I haven't seen the film. But when was that film released? The resto's new though. Thanks for including Market Basket in your future food trip, and hope to hear about it, too! Thanks for dropping by the blog!
