ZAKEE SHAWERMA AND KEBAB MEDITERRANEAN CUISINE

***As of 02 October 2012, Zakee Shawerma and Kebab Mediterranean Cuisine is closed.***

Presenting our newest discovery: ZAKEE Shawerma and Kebab Mediterranean Cuisine!

Whenever we go to Sta. Lucia Mall or Robinson's Metro East, we always pass by Gil Fernando avenue (formerly Tuazon) on our way home. A few weeks ago, I noticed a new establishment beside Luyong - with signs of Shawerma and Kebab all over the place. Yesterday, Sweetie and I decided to try it out.

Zakee has a clean and very nice interior

I really like the effects of blue lights... Sort of reminded of my gyro experience in Paris. :)

We were really excited about what's in store for us in this resto so we ordered a bit of everything. Hummus wasn't available that time, but I will definitely go back to try their hummus and their beef shawerma (again)!

The good stuff that we ordered:

 Sizzling beef kebab with rice

Keema: Spicy herbs and spices with ground beef, tomato, potato and eggplant. Oh-so-hot. And oh so yummy!

Beef shawerma with cheese. So yummy! The beef was very tender and flavorful, the onions and tomatoes fresh and crisp. Plus they give you unlimited yoghurt garlic sauce. Need we ask for more?!

For me, these two sauces are their secret ingredients. The one to your left is the YOGHURT GARLIC SAUCE, and the other one is their TAHINI SAUCE (tastes a bit like hummus). They give these to you and you can actually finish the whole bottle. I almost did. (Hehe!)

 Home-made Yoghurt

My fave Raspberry Sola and Sweetie's Sprite to accompany our good meals

Our dining experience at Zakee was really fun and filling. I love, love, love, Mediterranean cuisine, and their shawerma was really a wonderful surprise. I will definitely come back to try their other dishes, their beef shawerma and of course, the two sauces I fell in love with: yoghurt garlic and tahini. *drools* (Might try the oxbrain too...)
I love their lamps too. :)

OGGO AND JULLZ

Little sister and I went on a Sunday food trip for lunch before we went to the nail spa for our pedicure. I had been eyeing this resto grill, OGGO AND JULLZ, for the longest time every time we pass by Lamuan going to Concepcion.

Let me tell you a secret: the main thing that actually drew us to this restaurant was the big poster of their Banoffee pie outside! Since we're all about sweet "teeth" - no a tooth isn't enough - we are all the more curious in trying this resto grill's menu, which of course includes the pie that inspired our marvel!

They have long tables inside. After a few minutes, we knew why. A lot of people came in and filled up the place!

Oggo and Jullz Grill is right across South Supermarket in Lamuan (J.P. Rizal street)

Free chichacorn while we wait for our orders. Sweet.

 Some refreshing Red Iced Tea

 Bagoong Rice. Yum!

Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet. The sauce was an awesome mix of flavors, yum again!

Pork barbecue cooked just right, and full of flavor too! Comes with free achara!

 Their famous Chicken Wings!

There's always room for desserts like Leche Flan...

 ...and Fruit Salad...

...and BANOFFEE PIE!!! This one is soooo good! I noticed every table in the resto ordered a slice or two for take out!

They also have value meals from 50PhP up. Sulit na sulit! Visit OGGO AND JULLZ Resto Grill Today! (And do tell me about your Banoffee Pie experience, okay?)

More Reasons to Love MAMA CHIT'S

There I was again at Mama Chit's, this time with my cool Mom and cool sister.

 The cooooool Mom

With the cooooool sister

Our family is quite close and since my work was not until late that afternoon, I decided to treat them for lunch. Too bad our other lovely sister was in Makati that time! :(

The place still looked the same, warm and toasty as I would describe cafes like this one. You can check out my first write up on Mama Chit's by clicking here.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, more reasons to love Mama Chit's:

The Chicken Burger

The Chicken Fillet Burger (No veggies. Guess who ordered this. Haha!)

The Chicken Fillet Burger says aaaaaahhhhhh....

 Mango and Banana Shakes

The coooool Mom caught texting behind the Mango and Banana Shake Towers

Pesto and Sun Dried Tomato Pasta...soooo creaaaaaamyyyy....

The pasta dish, barely surviving.

TAPSI NI VIVIAN

Serving very good tapa since 1984: TAPSI NI VIVIAN :)

I love their interior. Simple and very clean.

Orders come with free soup. It is actually beef broth from their bulalo, yum!

The essentials:

 Spiced Vinegar and Soy Sauce

Calamansi and Chili

As we anxiously wait for our tapsilog (tapa + sinangag + itlog) orders, I got up and admired their display of viands. There's a lot to choose from! They said aside from tapa, their bestsellers are crispy pata and lechon kawali.

 The bulalo section: Hello indeed!

Choose your ulam: fish escabeche, caldereta, pinakbet, etc, etc, etc...

Daing na bangus, shrimps, fried tilapia, barbecue, etc, etc, etc...

 Their best-selling Crispy Pata

Lechon Kawali, longganisa, bopis, etc, etc, etc...

And then our order arrives:

 TAPSILOG (tapa, sinangag, itlog)
Tender marinated beef with garlic fried rice and egg - sunny side up! :)YUMMY!

 Pairing mine with Coke Zero

Our plates only after a few minutes...!

Tapsi ni Vivian also has "Roofdeck" which you can rent for all your partying needs. Our high school batch had our grand reunion here. :)

Taste the sweet and tender tapa at Tapsi ni Vivian today!
