More Reasons to Love KRUNG THAI

Yesterday we were back at Krung Thai for my sister's extended birthday celebration. The place was packed, as always, and even more so given that it was Sunday - a family day, and it's the pay weekend! As mentioned in my first post on the restaurant, we've been here several times but we usually order the same stuff, the stuff that we love. Yesterday, we got to try new things from their menu.

The TOM YUM SOUP was sour and spicy (259 PhP/349 PhP for medium or large serving). You can ask your server to make it extra hot, or, like what we did, mild. Boo?

The soup gets served in this authentic hot pot

Crab meat rice (99 PhP/189 PhP/389 PhP for small, medium and large servings). Stir fried rice with the fragrance of shredded crab meat. Yum!

Adobong Kangkong - sweet and garlicky

Our favorite fried chicken that is best eaten with their chili sauce (129 PhP/249 PhP/498 PhP for quarter, half or whole chicken)

Bagoong rice that is a complete meal in itself - topped with pork adobo bits and scrambled egg... (99 PhP/189 PhP/389 PhP for small, medium and large servings) a green mango salad that is no less than sumptuous!

We ordered spring rolls, too!

Thai-style iced tea (left, 79 PhP) and regular iced tea (right, 59 PhP). The Thai-style iced tea is creamy and spiced. Delicious.

  1. Krung Thai has always been at the heart of Marikina and in the heart of Marikenyos. The Bagoong Rice is a local favorite! The green mango side dish that comes with it... truly unforgettable :D

  2. i've been to the market but didn't noticed this, wheres this located?

  3. @Ely: the bagoong rice is definitely a must-try when you visit Krung Thai. yung green salad na kasama nung dish, for me, is the secret to its success :D

@connie: this is at the ground floor of the market building :) I think all trikes know the place. you can also contact the restaurant via the numbers posted. :)

will come back here again to try bagoong rice and other noodle dishes.

  7. hi Alvin! bagoong rice is a must try, and you can check out their pad thai too :-) and yes, better late than never. let me know how your adventure goes!! :-)

  8. Tried their must try Bagoong Rice, and honestly when the plate was served, I didn't know what to eat first. Hahaha. It was so delicious!!

    Bagoong Rice rocks!!! \m/

Tried as well their Crispy Spicy Chicken Wings, and they're really spicy (well, at least for me). My gf was giggling as she saw my forehead sweating (evidence of the spiciness). haha

  9. Hi Alvin! so nice to hear from you. I hope you and your family were not affected by the flood? (though, in many ways, we all are). Thanks for sharing your experience! I think I'll try the spicy wings next ;-)

  10. Thanks Roni, fortunately we're all good. Hope you and you're family were OK as well. :)

  11. That's great to know. Our family, thank God, was not affected either. Let's all pray for those who are still recovering from the effects of the floods on their lives. Thanks Alvin!
